MyKal ("we", "our", or "the app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

• Account info: Email address (for authentication), display name, avatar (optional).
• Nutrition data: Meals you log, calorie and macro calculations, daily logs, goals, and progress.
• Physical data: Weight, height, age, gender, activity level (optional, used for BMR calculation).
• Social data: Friend codes, friend connections, challenge participation.
• Device data: We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or analytics data.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide the core app functionality — meal tracking, reports, goals, and AI analysis.
• To personalize your nutrition targets based on your physical profile.
• To enable social features like friends and challenges.
• We never sell your data to third parties.
• We never use your data for advertising.

3. AI & Meal Analysis

When you use the AI assistant or camera meal analysis, your meal descriptions and photos are sent to our AI service provider for processing. This data is used solely for generating nutrition analysis and is not stored by the AI provider beyond the processing session.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (hosted on AWS). All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Row-level security ensures you can only access your own data.

5. Data Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the app settings. This permanently removes all your data including meals, goals, progress, friend connections, and your profile. This action cannot be undone.

6. Third-Party Services

• Supabase: Database and authentication (privacy policy)
• Apple Sign-In / Google Sign-In: Authentication only
• Anthropic (Claude): AI meal analysis and chat (privacy policy)

7. Children's Privacy

MyKal is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
